Pakistani households carry a plethora of desi superstitions that one could literally do a course in. They can go for weird to totally absurd that are deeply rooted in our culture, and therefore have been transferred from generation to generation.
The desi superstitions play a massive role in Pakistani culture, and this belief in superstitions differs among social classes due to multiple reasons, with education being #1.
So we jotted down some desi superstitions that we’ve literally grown up hearing!
ULTA JOOTA RAKHNAY SAY GUNNAH MILTA HAI
Some even say that, joota ulta rakhnay say shaadi bhi jaldi ho jati hai. Lol
But whatever it means, this superstition is still stuck in my head and I make sure to flip the shoe.
JAYE NAMAZ KA KONA FOLD NA KARO TU SHAITAN NAMAZ PARHTA HAI

KHALI KENCHI CHALANAY SAY LARAI HO JATI HAI
And even if you have two knives, it could result in a fight. So I wasn’t allowed to play with scissors except for in art class.
MAGHRIB KE BAAD PERFUME LAGANAY SAY JINNAT FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU
And there’s another one – don’t go outside with your hair open after maghrib, jinn then also get attracted to you.
