Wing Chair: The grand daddy of chairs as we see it, this chair has made a huge come back. It is an easy chair with “wings” mounted to the back of the chair, typically, but not always, stretching down to the arm rest. The purpose of the “wings” was to enclose the head in order to provide comfortable protection in cold, and to trap the heat from a fireplace.
