Intizar Husain
Intizar Husain needs no introduction. If you live in Pakistan, it is impossible for you not to have ever heard his name. His body of work has influenced many authors and is still widely read all over Pakistan. He is at the forefront of Urdu fiction writing both as a novelist and a short story writer. His most famous novel ‘Basti’ is a must read. He has published two other novels ‘ Agey Sumandar Hay’ and ‘Naya Ghar’ as well. He was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2013. He was a recipient of the French Award, Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Lahore Literary Festival.
