Having coffee and blogging are two of my favourite things to do on a Saturday evening (also, because I’m a blogger) and I want to share my opinion on something’s that we all bloggers do. By the way, coffee happens to be a common ground for all of us. So, I’m going to use it as an excuse to highlight a trend that I’ve been seeing for a while now.
Coffee (after Chai) has become one of the most popular and regularly ordered drinks and I think, by now, every blogger owns a Nespresso (haha!). The things I think and worry about with my friends over coffee, I’m going to list a few of those in this blog that all bloggers do also. And, hey, I’d appreciate it if you’d just take it for that! Thanks!
GOSSIP ABOUT OTHER BLOGGERS
If you’re catching up with your (so-called) blogger besties over coffee and don’t gossip about how well or awful XYZ blogger is doing, to discussing the # of followers and engagement that they’ve bought, then you’re missing the actual point of the meet-up.
FOOD BLOGGERS LOSE THEIR SH*T IF IT ISN’T MADE WELL
Some people do actually enjoy coffee and take, how it’s made, very seriously. So, if it’s extra milky, less frothy, or very sweet, food bloggers in particular, will lose their mind and even give tips on how to make the best coffee! Err.
POSE FOR INSTAGRAM
If you’re having coffee and don’t take insta-worthy shots inspired by Pinterest, then you’ve wasted a good outfit and coffee! And then the cute (read: filtered) mini vlogs to update on their YouTube channel because #yolo?
TAG & BAD MOUTH A BRAND FOR THEIR AWFUL SERVICE
So you’re a blogger and you went to ABC restaurant and ended up not liking either their food, or the service etc, so you use your privilege of having 20K followers, post insta stories of how terribly you were treated and go to the lengths of boycotting the place and asking your followers to do the same!
What happens next is that you’re invited for a free tasting. Hmmm!
COMPARE THEMSELVES WITH OTHER BLOGGERS
So a blogger got a huge post or partnership and you wanted it and it happens every day to a lot of bloggers. We all deal with it. Don’t compare and don’t compete. Why would you want to? It takes so much time and energy. Instead spend that time and energy on making your blog and presence better on social media. Focus on yourself and NOT what others are doing!
Ps. This doesn’t apply to bloggers 🙂
