After the phenomenal success of ‘Mujhey Khuda Pe Yaqeen Hai’, ‘Fitrat’ and ‘Uraan’, 7th Sky Entertainment is back with another intriguing drama serial ‘Mohlat’ for the 9PM slot. Mohlat caught our attention since its teasers went out and its first episode went on air. Twenty one episodes down, and the drama continues to get more interesting with every passing episode. Produced by the media moguls Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, directed by Saima Waseem and, penned down by Samira Fazal, the drama explores a number of themes including greed, gender inequality, and revenge.
If you haven’t started watching the serial, here are 5 reasons that make Mohlat a must-watch drama:
A strong story with a lot of twists and turns
The drama has a strong story with so much happening in each episode and a fair share of action and drama. It is not a simple tale bound in romance, but it delivers more than just that. The tale is centered on a family who does not warm up to the birth of a third daughter, Nawera, whose father opts for a second marriage in hopes of having a son. Nawera, hence, is blamed for her father’s life-changing decision and faces years of neglect and discrimination. On the other hand, Maham, the elder daughter is a proud, self-centered and materialistic person, who gets special treatment by all, and when she doesn’t get what she wants, she knows how to manipulate the situation in her favor. There is so much beyond this in Mohlat as it brings twists and turns in the story with every passing episode that make you look forward to it every day.
Debuting a new couple, Kinza Hashmi and Sami Khan
The gorgeous Kinza Hashmi and handsome Sami Khan are seen as the leading pair in Mohlat, which gives us another reason to watch this drama. The two actors share a sizzling on-screen chemistry that is loved by fans. Sami Khan and Kinza Hashmi, playing Dawar and Maham, are talented and have proved their mettle as versatile actors with numerous hit serials. As they come together, they have created magic with their powerful performances.
Highlights a strong sister bond
While Maham plays the role of a selfish sister, Rida and Nawera, played by Sabeena Farooq and Komal Aziz, depict a supportive and strong sisterly bond. Both the sisters’ stand by each other’s side through thick and thin, and their bond is a treat to watch in Mohlat. Rida helps Nawera in bringing out her talent and motivates her to stop blaming herself for what happened with her mother and stand up for herself. On the other hand, Nawera provides her with emotional support when she is diagnosed with brain tumor while she also convinces Essa to marry her (who loved Nawera and wanted to marry her) and tries to give her the happiness she deserves.
Ensemble cast
Apart from the story, what makes Mohlat a serial to binge-watch and tune to every day, is its ensemble cast. The cast members include Sami Khan, Kinza Hashmi, Komal Aziz, Sabeena Farooq, Bushra Ansari, Usama Khan, Asma Abbas, Tanveer Jamal, Javeria Abbasi, Aadi, Daniyal Afzal, Saife Hassan, Nida Mumtaz, and Sharif Baloch. All of the actors have done justice to their role and own their characters completely to breathe life into the drama.
7th Sky Entertainment Production
The fact that it is a production of 7th Sky Entertainment, the leading production house of the country with numerous blockbuster serials under their belt, gives us all the more reason to watch this drama. We know that the duo of Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi will not disappoint us as bringing forth stories that are intense as well as engaging is their forte. As the drama progresses, we can see that like many other serials this one also has the potential to become another of their hit serials.
