Year in year out, every season we seem to get more and more bombarded with choices in clothes. From digital prints to prêt kurtis and unstitched fabric, textiles are va va voom in our country.
While there are unending choices, unfortunately there isn’t unending variety; I mean how much innovation can one bring into a three piece jora really? Turns out Lakhany Silk Mills (LSM) is working on something that will change our mind!
LSM presents Komal SS 2016. Komal is not just a collection of unstitched fabric and stitched kurtis; it is the journey of an urban woman, who lives a multi faceted life. She has many roles to play, be it a daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, caregiver and sometimes provider. She is ready to take on the world and isn’t afraid to express her personality through her unique sense of style.
The collection is inspired from nature. Intricate embroideries ranging from detailed indian motifs, floral and geometrical motifs and Hungarian craft are adorned by vibrant colors to soft pastels.
With more than 90 outfits the collection includes embroidered Kurtis, Printed Kurtis, embroidered 3 piece suits with chiffon dupatta, embroidered 3 pieces suits with lawn dupatta and printed 3 piece suits with lawn dupatta.
What is refreshing to see about the collection is its boldness. It is a daring collection if you ask us as it tries to move away from the norms of what a lawn jora must look like. It is unique in a way that it gives the Komal woman a chance to stand out from the crowd owing to the aesthetic it carries.
SiddySays headed over to LSM office to view their collection, and here are some exclusive pieces that will give you a peak into the world of Komal!

This design is modern and fresh. Turtle necks are big on trend and LSM has tried to inculcate that to make a traditional lawn joraa more than just a 3 piece suit. The suit has phulkari embroidery with Indian motives and vibrant colors.
