Lately, weddings in Pakistan have grown to be a really extravagant affair. From hiring event managers, to having multiple functions, to wearing heavily embellished designer clothes, people really focus on their looks and festivities. Naturally this increases the demand for Bridal wear and designers in the country, and every year we come across more and more emerging names.
In this scheme of things Hum Bridal Couture week has really carved a name for itself. Held bi annually, it is The platform for bridal designers to showcase their talent. The recent edition of QHBCW held in Pearl Continental Karachi showcased the most recent bridal trends of the country.
One of the bonafide and renowned names in the fashion fraternity, Amir Adnan showcased his collection on Day 1 with his formal menswear collection. Enthused from our own ethnicity and traditions his collection featured monochromes merged with embroideries giving a perfect blend of sophistication and ease. And to top it with a cherry, Huma Adnan also unveiled her bridal wear alongside, to compliment menswear collection. The ensembles were very traditional , just the way we like them.
The men’s collection encapsulated long shirts with Shalwar and waist coats draped with a Chadar around the shoulders which is a look that will never be outdated. Men’s Sherwanis in pastel shades with the combination of gold and silver thread work was another FAD that was introduced, with intricate embroideries, conventional choridar and a turban in contrasting shades epitomizing the collection.
On the other hand, the bridal wear flaunted shades of ivory and peaches with classic silhouettes giving a luxurious feel to the entire look. The collection was hand embroidered using Kamkhaab and silk woven jamavar with zardozi, incorporating real silver pieces giving it a vintage look.
Overall, the duos’s collection was carefully put together giving a tasteful ode to our cultural heritage. It unfolded age old rich values with a background and history following cuts and styles that remain timelessly elegant over the years. With a subtle play of shades the collection revived the concept of a traditional wedding with sehra n shehnai.
To wrap up the show and maintaining QHBCW’s trademark, the models walked the ramp to the melodious voice of Raga Boys (Wali, Nayab, Inam) who were fully clad in Amir Adnan.
