There are multiple benefits to having dual citizenship, including greater global mobility, economic opportunities, enhanced quality of life, and improved personal security.
However, acquiring second citizenship can be a lengthy process as long-term residence in the country is a usual requirement. Business owners and private investors looking to gain an alternative nationality often turn to investment migration because it is quicker and generally hassle-free.
These citizenship-by-investment programmes are offered by many countries across the world and they grant practically instant nationality in return for major contributions to society, culture, and/or the economy.
One program that caught our eye after its launch in Jan 2021 in Pakistan is the Montenegrin CBIP! (This program was introduced by Porto Montenegro, one of the largest international investors in Montenegro)
We bring you some of the main reasons why:
- Montenegro is a key destination for investors seeking mobility, security, and increased quality of life.|
- The country’s natural beauty isn’t the only reason why the nation has increased opportunity for growth and development. Its recent independence and strategic position have led to Montenegro becoming central to some of the most important industries in the world and having one of the fastest-growing economies in the Balkans.
- The Montenegro Citizenship Investment Programme is one of the most affordable and fastest in Europe.
- Currently, Montenegrin passport holders can enjoy visa-free travel to over 124 countries worldwide, including the Schengen zone.
Requirements
With a minimum investment of €450,000 and a €100,000 donation to a Montenegrin Government development fund, successful applicants can be granted full citizenship within six months from submitting their full application.
