[tps_header]The second leg of the Pantene Hum Show Case was an extraordinary affaire that displayed radical and positively new collection of some of the veteran and emerging designers of Pakistan in all their creative glory. What was seen was nothing less than brilliant prowess and aesthetics of these designers as they claimed their name to fame for all the right reasons. While we were at it, we spotted a few trends that were daring and statement-making.[/tps_header]
CULTURAL SYMBOLISM
Beyond Borders by Deepak & Fahad, Color Me Secular by The Pink Tree Company and Flight of The Bulbul: In Ascension by Mahgul were an amalgamation of eastern elements, Pakistan’s ideology and man’s evolution were symbolized through ancient scriptures, embellishments and clean silhouettes.
STATEMENT SLEEVES
They were popping in different shapes and sizes in Zaheer Abbas’s collection Rebirth, which was a fusion of the old and the new. The statement sleeves reminded us of the Victorian times where the Victorian fashion trends were extremely prim and proper yet outrageous – Victorian skirts with detachable collars and cuffs.
BOLD PRINTS
Bold prints are a big yes and can revolutionize the outfit from being meek to over powering and that is what Adnan Pardesy showed in his collection called Pixel. Bold prints are a great way to accentuate your style.
BELTS
A trend that keeps reoccurring every alternate year, a belt adds an extra dimension to your outfit and gives it a touch of trend. Both Zonia Anwaar and Zaheer Abbas showcased belts in their outfits to modernize the charm of a wearing a textured or plain belt this year in the most minimalistic manner.
WHITE LINENS AND DENIMS
These trends come in several wearable trends every year. What makes them absolutely cool is that they never go out of style. Where the white linen was ruled every designers collection, Mahgul played with denims too.
STRIPES
Clean cut stripes were a part of Zonia Anwaar’s Spring Summer collection Verso that was tainted with modern cuts and cool accented tones in the most minimalistic way.
WEDDING VIBES
Elan’s Nafeesa brought old world glamor with exquisite colour patterns whereas Umar Sayeed’s Good As Gold is a sparkling manifest of what could be the newest wedding trends of Summer 2018.
Second line dresses are perfect for my wife, she loves to go to dance parties.
