Let’s face it – Bollywood loves status quo so when someone even merely mentions the word nepotism, they are instantly reminded of the huge fiasco that was created when Kangna Ranaut called out Karan Johar by branding him as the “flag bearer of nepotism” on his show Koffee with Karan. And also because nepotism is also like a jolt that puts these stars in a crumbling position of where they actually stand. That’s what Bollywood is like, if you can’t fit in, you’re either barred to join the club of the privileged like caste outs, and/or are simply asked to leave the industry. So, here are few of the reasons we thought that have been born of pure nepotism in Bollywood and everybody has to just live with it.
Suhana Khan On The Cover of Vogue India
As much as we were excited to see king khan’s daughter all grown up, we were fazed out by the idea that what has she done to achieve this status to be on the cover of VOGUE magazine. She’s not a starlet, has no films in her kitty and nor is she a model, BUT she is SRK’s daughter and that is enough to get her on the cover of any prestigious magazine. Hence, this is a perfect example of the case of nepotism 101.

Star Kids Debuting with Big Banner Films
The list is long. From Arjum Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, Shradha Kapoor, Sonakhsi Sinha and Athiya Shetty etc have had their careers boosted once they were spotted and adopted by big banner films that set their career paths for them. For some their first film became a wonder while for others they are still struggling to make their mark, but to give a star’s child the opportunity in Bollywood and that also with a big banner film is sheer nepotism. Why did Karan Johar launch Alia and Varun when their fathers themselves are big produces/directors? Ever thought about that?

When You Have A Mentor Like Salman Khan
We know Salman Khan for his big heart and love for everyone, so when he sets his eye on something, or someone, that moment in itself changes everything for everyone. So whether it was Katrina Kaif, Sooraj Pancholi, training with Hrithik Roshan (the rest is him), or even Sonakshi Sinha for that matter, Salman takes these actors in his wing and protects them like his own, guides them in their careers and is just there for them. If this isn’t nepotism, then what is!
