Ehd-e-Wafa’s first episode is 38 minutes of fun, exhilaration and adventure played by four best friends, who go by SSG (Saad, Ahad Raza Mir – Shahzain, Osman Khalid Butt – Sheharyar, Ahmed Ali Akbar – Shariq, Wahaj Ali) at one of the top public Army schools of the country, Lawrence College, Murree.
The episode kicked off with humour and we already know where the show is going to take us, but we can’t wait to watch how the story will unravel when these four 4 best friends have to embark on their real life journeys.
Until then, here’s what we LOVED about this episode and some of the reasons why we’re super excited to watch it.
1- The first episode of Ehd-e-Wafa has instantly set the tone of the drama serial – which is going to be fun, playful and very exciting, thanks to SSG. The spirited banter amongst the four boys is a lighthearted reminder of the all the things teenage boys do; from pulling each others legs, to making excuses for the other and protecting their “own” in hard times. Their naive actions are justifiable and all the four actors have held their own and developed a start of their journey into the show with their body language and individual vibe.
2- In the beginning when we see the boys are caught sneaking out of the hostel, they are later taken to the Principal. However, moments before that scene, we see all of them together vowing to protect and support each other, which means that for them staying together will get them through everything. Thus, their bond shows the reality of life and our the belief in “united we stand, divided we fall”.
3- Zara Noor Abbas as Rani is a fire cracker to watch and her opening sequence is totally unforgettable. The way with she delivered her dialogues and added that extra punch with each word, we can’t wait to see what shes going to do next. Rani’s going to be a treat to watch with all the drama and patakha.
4- Watching Faraz Inam playing Faraz, (father of Saad, Ahad Raza Mir’s character) is an Army man (yet again). His appearance is the most SURPRISING and nostalgic of all, especially since we never got over Alpha Bravo Charlie. His screen time showed that he is going to play the role of a father who has some great expectations from his son.
5- The episode is shot brilliantly (especially with the location), the script seems promising, we love the star cast and look forward to some more delightful onscreen appearances/roles and the fact the drama is set apart from the domestic and social issues that we’ve been watching for a long time is now, is very REFRESHING. We needed a break and that’s what Ehd-e-Wafa brings to the plate.
