The Summer season is nearly upon us, and with that comes the overdose of lawn brands and prints that are way too many for a mere mortal to store in memory.
Lawn may be lovely, and is an absolute joy to sport with its breathable fabric during the sweltering Summer months, but, we urge you to stop following the same trends year after year, and come up with new exciting styles instead for your wardrobe this year.
Here are the 5 things that we’d want to stop witnessing during the long months of wearing lawn:
OVERUSE OF PATCH WORK
God knows we’ve had enough of lawn dresses with their additional offerings of embroideries, silk trimmings, chiffon swathes, Swarovski stones and what not?! Take it easy on the embellishments, you guys.
DON’T LOOK LIKE A FLORAL BOUQUET
Don’t get us wrong. We love a good old lawn jora with pretty floral details and dainty add-ons, but, when is this much too much? We are sick to death of seeing brands use the same colour schemes along the lines of similar looking prints year after year after year on repeat. Give those floral vines a much needed break.
LESS IS MORE
Trust us when we say less is more: dare to stand out from the crowd! Instead of flaunting the regular three-piece joras with not an inch to spare without a printed detail or an embroidered motif, opt for simpler styles in solid-colours for a more unique look.
DON’T FOLLOW TRENDS
Ladies, stop following the style herd without keeping your own body type in mind. If long shirts are in fashion or those big patiala shalwars, opt for a style only after ensuring that it suits your own personal (splendid) body type too.
OWN IT!
We can’t emphasise on this enough: stop labelling dresses as last year’s and subsequently discard them on that basis. If you like something, and you spent your money on it, then wear it the next year too and be proud of it like the boss babe that you are!
