Mushk episode 13 was an eye opener last night and validated all the reasons why I never trusted Saqib from day one. In one of the episodes where he took money from Zulekha was big enough of an excuse for me to see him reveal his true colors. Moreover, Saqib always looked devious with that poker face so I wasn’t surprised when he sells Roshni to avenge his sister.
Last night, Mushk episode 13 was fast-paced and uncovered multiple layers of what we should expect from the upcoming episodes. Guddi is working on a grand scheme and is carefully placing her cards in the right deck, Adam’s under a lot of pressure continuing from episode 12; he has to find Shayan now that he knows about her whereabouts as well as bring Roshni back, and the course of Roshni’s life has been completely altered since she’s been sold to a brothel.
Mushk episode 13 had some heartfelt moments like the meaningful conversation between Guddi and Adam, highlighting the softer side of Guddi and why she is who she is. I personally enjoyed the cheesy interaction of Guddi and Dr. Saahab because she’s been strategically toying with Dr. Saahab to take control of Malik Saab’s medical situation. Guddi also took charge and highlighted a pertinent societal issue of “WILL or MARZI ” by using Dr. Saahab’s character as an example and that if men respect women enough and their choice, decision and intention to do things according to their own volition then they wouldn’t need to apologise for their stance.
SAQIB WAS AVENGING HIS SISTER
So, finally the cat’s out of the bag and I am glad I never fell for Saqib’s sweet talk because he never came off as someone loyal and trustworthy. While Roshni may have been head all heels in love with him and agreed to elope with him, for Saqib she was just a game plan to avenge his sister’s bed-ridden condition under the hands of Malik Saab, Roshni’s father who was a womanizer back in the day and attacked her. Roshni, however was the star of Mushk episode 13 because she played her character extremely well. From her body language, to expressing her fears of impending doom and naivete was wonderfully portrayed. This plot was quite interesting one to see how Roshni became a victim of Guddi, Zulekh, Malik Saab and Saqib.
GUDDI HAS A MASTER PLAN
Guddi is a master mind and is literally running the show. She got her revenge without realizing the impact of it on Roshni’s life (but then again, that’s Guddi, right) and now she’s on her way to fix Malik Saab by misleading Dr. Saahab so she can unravel the bigger picture. Urwa’s comical interaction with the Dr added the fun element in a serious episode and I thought she was great as a comedian and a strong woman who stands by the power of will in a male dominated society.
ADAM & GUDDI GIVE EACH OTHER A REALITY CHECK
The conversation between Adam and Guddi deepened the significance of their characters and highlighted Guddi’s “human” side and that she does feel something after all. The dialogues were beautifully written and expressed with ingenuity, giving birth to, perhaps, Guddi falling in love with Adam after all.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON MUSHK EPISODE 13
Mushk episode 13 has cleared the path for what all is going to go down in Mushk. The slow buildup to this moment where the truth came out was smarty played and that’s what I applaud the most. The dialogues and the way with which Guddi and Adam have taken lead makes these two characters the most interesting of all.
