Junaid Jamshed was not just a legend or an icon, he was a beacon of hope with a unique voice and a heart full of love for everyone. And that continued to live on when he grouped as Vital Signs and became a sensation, altering the course of the Pakistani music industry. Therefore the world came to a stop when he decided to part ways and embrace Islam whole-heartedly.
So on his fourth anniversary, we’re sharing something that we’ve learnt about him as a tribute so he can live on forever even though he’s gone.
Not many people know but Junaid Jamshed was struggling within himself between his choices; a glamorous and successful life as a musician versus the chosen path towards Allah, for which he was heavily criticized. He was silently battling this paramount shift in his lifestyle that only his close friends and family knew about. However, in spite of this, he was clear about what he wanted to do, and that was to preach and spread the message of Allah.
Junaid Jamshed was once in a band called “Nuts and Bolts” when he was in college and was the lead vocalist.
Junaid Jamshed was an ardent advocate of women’s maternal health and worked on setting up maternal health facilities for women settled in villages, who had no access to proper health care. So he was associated with an organisation called “Muslim Charity” that focuses on maternal health nationally and globally and expanded to 16 countries with his help.
After 9/11 Junaid Jamshed made an attempt to kick-start his career in Engineering by applying to various companies, however that did not pan out and he devoted himself to Islam later.
