Pakistani Dramas Dragged Unnecessarily
Azmaish
Writer: Samina Aijaz
Director: Fajar Raza
Producer: Big Bang Entertainment
Channel: ARY Digital
Cast: Kinza Hashmi, Yashma Gill, Fahad Sheikh, Laila Wasti, Shahood Alvi, Rashid Farooqi, Rehan Nazim, and others.
Azmaish is one of the famous Pakistani dramas that was recently on air. The drama soon took the form of a daily soap when producers decided to show two consecutive episodes on daily basis. In the beginning, everyone loved the story of Nimra who struggled to remain in the household of her stepfather. Her stepsisters hated her.
Her step-sister, Shiza, was a character filled with toxicity and she kept on bringing misery to other characters. Shiza’s father had a blind eye towards her actions and mental state. Later, the drama lost track and episodes were filled with flashbacks and scenes from the supporting characters. The scenes of Basit’s brother and his wife and Nimra’s biological father made the drama boring.
Dunk
Writer: Mohsin Ali
Director: Badar Mehmood
Producer: Big Bang Entertainment
Channel: ARY Digital
Cast: Nauman Ejaz, Bilal Abbas Khan, Sana Javed, Azekah Daniel, Fahad Sheikh, Shahood Alvi, Laila Wasti, Saife Hassan, Salma Hassan, Yasra Rizvi, and others.
Dunk got a lot of fame among the audience before coming on-air. It had a different storyline. This drama was based on the struggles men face in society in terms of false allegations of sexual harassment. It was a completely different topic for the audience which also got praise from the viewers.
The drama was a hit till the death of Professor Humayun. But, soon as he died, the drama turned repetitive because the same story started to repeat between Haider and Amal. it was unnecessary to drag the drama for a longer time. The drama had an open-ended plot and the viewers waited for it to come to a conclusion.
In the drama, there were mostly flashbacks, OST, and passing shots of the characters. It is an example of a drama with a brilliant storyline but the producers and director handled it too poorly.
Fitoor
Writer: Zanjabeel Asim Shah
Director: Siraj ul Haque
Producer: 7th Sky Entertainment
Channel: Geo Entertainment
Cast: Faysal Qureshi, Hiba Bukhari, Wahaj Ali, Kiran Haq, Ismat Zaidi, Mizna Waqas, Kamran Jeelani and others.
Fitoor is an example of a messed up and the Longest Pakistani Drama. It was based on the story of Dilnasheen, a girl who was trying to bring pieces of her life together. Her love affair before marriage became a struggle for her. The directors showed Haider as a perfect husband. Naimal was the ex-lover of Haider who did everything to conspire against Dilnasheen. Hamza was a revengeful lover who wanted to do everything to get Dilnasheen Back.
The dramatists decided to show everyone a victim except for Dilnasheen. Her family hated her. the whole drama was based on slow-paced storytelling. The episodes had not much to show other than just one or two significant scenes. The drama lost track a lot of times.
The passiveness of Haider was just too intolerable for the viewers. The cast was good, the story was good but the whole project was not handled in a right way. If the producers directed it in the right way, Faisal Qureshi and Hiba Bukhari had done a brilliant job.
Mohlat
Writer: Samira Fazal
Director: Saima Waseem
Producer: 7th Sky Entertainment
Channel: Geo
Cast: Bushra Ansari, Asma Abbas, Sami Khan, Kinza Hashmi, Komal Aziz Khan, Tanveer Jamal, Sabeena Farooq, Javeria Abbasi, Aadi, Usama Khan, Daniyal Afzal, Saife Hassan, Nida Mumtaz, Sharif Baloch, Nazia, and others
Mohlat had a big cast including experienced actors like Bushra Asari, Asma Abbas, Sami Khan, Kinza Hashmi, and many others. The drama had a typical storyline but had enough power to keep the interest of the audience. In the beginning, the drama had a fast pace and viewers enjoyed it a lot. But, later the producers decided to outstretch the drama. The acting was left behind and OST took its place.
The audience could see that the characters are only remembering something from the past integrated with the OST rather than doing something new. This is Nothing new for the 7th sky Entertainment. So, we must have already expected the outstretch. If you want to watch a drama without a near ending, this is one for you.
Pehli Si Muhabbat
Writer: Faiza Iftikhar
Director: Anjum Shehzad
Producer: IDream Entertainment
Channel: ARY Digital
Cast: Sheheryar Munawar, Maya Ali, Uzma Hassan, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, Rabia Butt, Shabbir Jan, Saba Faisal, Paras Masroor, Nausheen Shah, and others.
Pehli si Muhabbat was a much-anticipated drama in the Pakistani drama industry. Maya Ali and Shehryar Munawar appeared on the drama screen after a long time. The teasers showed it to be an intense love story but it targeted some serious institutions of the society. They attacked the stereotypical thinking of the society while the love story remained side by side.
Society was a major turn-off for the love story lovers. The drama was only filled with stretched restraint from the society on the couple.
The audience kept on waiting for the couple to meet. But, the drama was only comprised of Maya Ali crying and eventually getting married to someone else. When she got married to someone else than Aslam, the audience left the interest and many of the viewers stopped watching the drama. Because it was dragged to the list of Longest Pakistani dramas.
