Dil-e-Momin’s second episode of the week aired tonight and things aren’t looking good for Momin. There is no way that Momin can get out of this as we have seen in the last episode. Nonetheless, it was heartbreaking to see a simple guy like Momin get embroiled in a situation like that. Read onto find out what happened today.
EVERYONE THINKS MOMIN IS THE CULPRIT
Momin goes to the mosque to deliver azaan but the people from the neighborhood arrive and start hurling insults and abuses at him. They think a man as evil and vile as Momin shouldn’t be allowed to be in the neighborhood, let alone step foot inside the mosque.
MOMIN FINALLY RETURNS HOME
Momin is greeted by doubts and questions. Everyone thinks he is the culprit in that situation. Even Ashi refuses to trust him. She thinks why would a girl bring dishonor upon herself by making a claim like that. She believes that Momin is the sinner who attacked Maya.
MAYA’S MOTHER MAKES MATTERS WORSE
Just when Momin is about to ask for forgiveness from his father, Maya’s mother arrives and things escalate. She tells everyone Momin was after Maya for a long time. She stopped going to college but he came home and convinced her to continue her studies. Of course, this casts a bad light on Momin and further weakens his case.
MOMIN’S WORLD CRUMBLES DOWN
Shahzad slaps Momin and cuts all ties with him. Ashi returns his ring and calls off the engagement herself. Momin tries to stop her one last time but it is to no avail.
OUR VERDICT
Like yesterday’s episode, this one was an emotional and exhausting one because of how a series of odds keep getting stacked against Momin. He probably brought this on himself when he indirectly encouraged Maya with his actions. He should have told his family or Ashi about Maya but he kept it hidden from them. As a result, everyone thinks he is wrong which makes sense because all the evidence and testimonies are against him.
Faisal Qureshi really brought out Momin’s helplessness and his vulnerability on screen. His expressions and dialogue delivery was first rate. The supporting characters too were top notch.
