The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson is a gem in the truest sense. Let’s admit it we all need a little nudge towards positivity in this age. Today more often than not, our brains tend to obsess over what is not there, instead of what is right in front of our noses. I simply cannot bear to read or listen to the same old song about, “smile more, give more, dance more…”, or “think less, frown less, complain less…”. I want to know more than that.
In the midst of this tug-of-war between how-little-is-less and how-much-is-more, I found a bright pumpkin-coloured book cover flashing on my news feed constantly. Before I knew it, I had placed an order for this book with it’s somewhat catchy and crude title “The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck”.
Mark Manson pens this brilliant treasure for the likes of all who tend to give too many damns in a single day. With its sassy satire and unapologetically to-the-point mood, Manson has cleverly produced this book-child. This book casually tricks the readers into believing that they are merely reading a unique book that urges them to shed their insecurities and unnecessary emotional baggage. While in reality, it is doing this and much more to the well-being of our super stressed minds!
Initially, one might deem the Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck treasure rude, crude or even unpractical. But like anything of significance in practical life, once you dig deeper, you will only find some much-needed wisdom and lessons about the essence of life and our ideal attitude towards it. Manson, subtly yet cleverly, instills core values and inspires the readers to let go of all that fails to serve its purpose in their growth. Therefore, he encourages the readers to only allow, in their lives, people, habits and vibes that add to their over-all well-being and betterment.
