The fashion scene in Pakistan is constantly on the rise and we for one are uber happy about it! Numerous fashion weeks are taking place throughout the year and among them, one of Karachi’s biggest fashion presentations of the season is Fashion Pakistan Week, or better known as FPW . FPW is making a comeback to highlight the trends of the season with their seventh edition for 2014. The fashion week is set to begin on November 25 in Karachi and will end on November 27.
The Fashion Pakistan Council is the official host of the event with their governing body including names like Wardah Saleem, Sanam Chaudhari, Maheen Karim, Mahin Hussain, Sania Maskatiya, Obaid Sheikh and Nauman Arfeen. The official partners for this event include NABILA (N-Pro) and N GENTS for styling, our personal favorite Hassan Shehryar Yasin for choreography, backstage management by O21 and media partnership by HUM TV network.
The showcasing designers include names like Aamna Aqeel, Ayesha Farooq Hashwani, Adnan Pardesy, Deepak Perwani, DnF, Emraan Rajput, Faraz Mannan, FnkAsia, Ishtiaq Afzal Khan, Gul Ahmed, Levis, Maheen Karim, Maheen Khan, Nauman Arfeen, Nida Azwer, Sadaf Malaterre, Sana Safinaz, Sanam Chaudhri, Shehla Chatoor and Zaheer Abbas.
Fashion Pakistan is also giving a twist to the three-day week with a unique event ‘Millennial Fashion’ to be held separate from the week on November 22, 2014. This is a platform will be an opportunity for the youth to showcase their designs. Some of the debut designers will be Sameer Sain, Nitasha Yaqub, Abel Emmanuel, Madiha Raza and Aalish. The millennial fashion show has been previously known as GeNex, and will launch new styling teams, new models and new choreographers into the fashion industry. The winner designer will be selected via on ground voting and will be given a free slot at the Fashion Pakistan Week Spring/Summer 2015 by the council.
Previously, Fashion Pakistan has collaborated with numerous global fashion weeks providing designers from Pakistan an international platform to showcase their talents. They include collaborations with the Fashion Design Council India, Dubai Fashion Fiesta, Dubai Fashion Week Creations, Council of International Fashion Designers and more.
