When thinking of home furnishing, the devil is in the details. Finding handmade products like those of House of Cali is near impossible. The House of Cali by Cyra Ali conceives and creates hand embroidered cushions that add serious oomph to your space.
The design house is based out of Karachi and recently held a popup exhibition at the Sania Maskatiya store on MM Alam Road, Lahore. We went there on a Saturday evening with great expectations that were more than satiated by the incredible merchandise we saw.
The cushions are all hand-made drawing inspiration from some of the most well known paintings in the world. All cushions range from PKR 8000 to PKR 12000.
Cyra Ali, the creative genius behind House of Cali speaks to us about her journey. The brand started out three years ago when Cyra and her mother were looking for unique and exquisite cushions. They recognized the gap in the market and decided to form Cali. As an artist, Cyra wanted to bring art to the everyday life, to promote it and more importantly revive it. She has studied at the school of Indus Valley in Karachi and has since been involved in art in one way or the other since. Her cushions can also be bought online on her Facebook page . Have a look at some of her fabulous pieces that we saw at the exhibition:
