HUM TV’s latest offering Jhok Sarkar taps into the cop universe genre that hasn’t been much explored on Pakistani television. The initial promos and teasers gave viewers an inkling of a premise that differentiates between good and evil, an action-packed drama tossed with romance and dialogue baazi.
Headlining the enterprise is the versatile Farhan Saeed who is on a spree of delivering back-to-back hits. Adding more supremacy to the enterprise is the winning combo of writer Hashim Nadeem, director Saife Hassan and Momina Duraid productions. It is quite obvious that the expectations are high. Let’s review the first episode of Jhok Sarkar.

Farhan Saeed Is Playing The Role of ASP Arsalan
Enters ASP Arsalan aka (Farhan Saeed) the son of a retired police sergeant, secures a top position in exams and joins the police force as a senior officer. Arsalan is an honest and diligent police officer. He follows ethics and principles and doesn’t tolerate injustice and prejudice.
Arsalan Is The Caring Son
Arsalan’s hails from a middle-class family, his parents and two young sisters are jubilant on his success. He is the pride of his family for achieving so much at a young age. One day he gets a call from the IG office, his father is hopeful that he will get posted at the headquarters. Arsalan is inspired by his father’s police career that was based on pure honesty and dedication.
Romance Is In The Air
Arsalan gets free from the IG office and receives a call from a friend, (we assume is her girlfriend). She congratulates him on his achievements and invites him at her place home to meet his father. She hails from a rich background and insists that he should change his old motorbike. She informs him that his father is willing to gift him a car. The offer however gets rejected by ASP.
SiddySays Thinks
Well known for portraying light-hearted roles in Suno Chanda and Mere Humsafar. Farhan Saeed is on another level in Jhok Sarkar. He takes a giant leap and surprises everyone by excelling in this thriller. Saeed embodies on-screen masculinity and portrays the righteous police officer with ease. His physical transformation is evident on screen, he looks fit and gets his postures, gestures and body language correct. He comes out with flying colors and conveys so much even with his eye movements. Farhan’s presence in the first episode was a bit limited as the director took his time to establish the plot. The promos of episode 2 promise lots of fireworks and Farhan in a fiery avatar.
