Dramas nowadays have often become the victim of dragged narratives. For unknown reasons, the makers have this knack for adding irrelevant tracks to the main premise that eventually loses interest. However, Mere Shehzadi airing on HUM TV has been a rage ever since it started. The USP of the play has been its watertight script by Zanjabeel Asim Shah, crisp directions by Qasim Ali Mureed, grand production value by Momina Duraid and towering performance by actor Urwa Hocane. Riding high on TRPs and YouTube views, the episode 19 of Meri Shehzadi offered a wholesome dose of entertainment.
DR. HASSAN PROTECTS DANIA
Dania (Urwa Hocane) gets mobbed by the paparazzi while visiting her grandfather at the hospital. She responds to the media questions about her marriage with Shahroz (Ali Rehman), and clarifies that she is now separated. Dr. Hassan (Farhan Saeed) intervenes in between and gets her out of the situation. He makes Dania comfortable and she shares all the problems she has faced in her marital life. She feels beyond disgusted that her in-laws can anytime create a false scandal or controversy and make her life miserable. Dr. Hassan makes her realize that she shouldn’t be caring about all this because she is the people’s princess. Her simplicity humbleness and bravery make her stand apart.
DANIA FINDS HERSELF IN ANOTHER FAKE SCANDAL
A few minutes later into the sweet conversation between the two, Dr. Hassan gets shocked to see his name being linked with Dania on social media platforms. He couldn’t digest the fact that journalism nowadays has no credibility. They can go to any extent to hamper the image of anyone without knowing the truth. Dania is calm and she tells him that she in her subconscious had an idea that this would happen. Her mother-in-law Shahana (Atiqa Odho) has made Dania a character of her story and decides her faith as per her liking. Dania apologizes to Dr. Hassan for going through this humiliation.
SHAHANA CONTINUES SCHEMING AGAINST DANIA
The wicked Shahana leaves no stone unturned to create trouble for Dania. She orders Shahroz to meet his children, but he is not interested at all. Time and again Shahana makes her son realize that he is next to run the party, therefore he should get out of the household politics and focus on his career. Without a doubt, she is also the mastermind behind Dania and Dr. Hassan’s fake scandal.
DANIA’S GRANDFATHER GETS DISCHARGED
Dania relentlessly takes care of her grandfather, in between this stressful situation, Dania constantly recalls her toddlers and prays that they come back again. She sees a horrific dream that her in-laws have taken away her children. Dr. Hassan being a master in his skill undergoes the treatment well and allows Sanaullah (Manzoor Qureshi) to go home. He even drives them to home, Sanaullah invites him to have coffee to which he agrees. Dr. Hassan being a thorough gentleman helps Dania in the kitchen and they have a long chat till morning. The former supports Dania and tells her to be strong and ensures that she will get her children back.
SIDDYSAYS THINKS
Episode 19 was a breath of fresh air because of the major shift in track. The USP of the episode was Dania’s striking chemistry with Dr. Hassan that worked big time. The conversations between the two were so organic that it felt like there weren’t any cameras around, just two people talking and no one watching. And that is the star power of protagonist Urwa Hocane. She shines like never before, one can’t imagine anyone else in her place and she does complete justice to a complex character. Whether in the scene where she gets mobbed by the media or when she breaks down and shows her emotions while talking to Dr. Hassan, Urwa gives her best and her body language is spot-on. Summing it up, the narrative also sees an angle of a possible romance between Dania and Dr. Hassan, not to forget in a crucial scene, the latter’s mother expresses her opinion that she likes Dania. It is yet to be seen if Dr. Hassan has such thing in mind?
