Urwa Hocane starrer Meri Shehzadi is a refreshing genre that connects with drama viewer’s big time. Following the story of protagonist Dania (Urwa Hocane), the girl next door goes through a huge transformation in life and fights for her rights. The political drama is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed, written by Zanjabeel Asim Shah and produced by Momina Duraid.
DANIA WINS HER CHILDREN’S CUSTODY
Dania (Urwa Hocane) decides to take the legal route to get back her children. She visits Shahana’s (Atiqa Odho) place with a court notice and lawyers. Not just that, Dania gives Shahana a taste of her own medicine. The latter leaves no stone unturned to insult and ridicule the former. One after the other, Dania gives befitting replies to the CM. After a point, she loses her temper and attempts to slap Dania. In response, Dania not just stops her hand and makes it clear that she isn’t a helpless or weak woman. She is a mother who has the power of her strong upbringing and the support of the people. She gives a final warning to mind her tone and dialect or else she can raise her voice too.
DANIA IS IN SEARCH OF HER DESTINY
After defeating Shahana, Dania comes back home and breaks down. She talks to Allah and asks him why is life so tough for her. She is tired of showcasing her strong side to the world. She seeks mercy and a way out from hard times. Dania hides her feelings from Sanaullah (Manzoor Qureshi) but he can see the worries evident on her face. Dania eventually tells him that she has to pay the remuneration of the nannies and she hasn’t got her salary yet. Sanaullah is surprised to know that Shahana and Shahroz (Ali Rehman) aren’t fulfilling their responsibilities. Dania tells him that she isn’t keen on taking any favors from them anymore. Sanaullah hands over his debit card to Dania to do the needful.
DR. HASSAN HAS DEVELOPED FEELINGS FOR DANIA
Dr. Hassan (Farhan Saeed) interestingly and casually develops feelings for Dania. He chats with her in long conversations over the telephone. One day Dania calls him and asks her to send the location of his house. Dr. Hassan is surprised until he gets to know that his mother has invited Dania’s family over for dinner without informing him. After dinner, they both indulge in a long conversation where Dr. Hassan indirectly expresses her interest in Dania. However, Dania makes it clear that she isn’t desperate for any man’s attention or support. Dr. Hassan then crosses the line and criticizes Shahroz, to which Dania tells him to be his support instead of instigating her. The episode ends with Dr. Hassan’s mother emphasizing him to marry Dania.
SIDDYSAYS THINKS
Episode 20 succeeds in explaining the context and taking the narrative forward. Nothing is out of place. Every scene has a deeper meaning and relevance. The romantic track of Dania and Dr. Hassan is super cute. Their post-dinner conversation between two is well-written and well-shot. However, the faceoff sequence between Dania and Shahana was the highlight. Urwa Hocane is sensational as the strong Dania who grapples to fight for her children and her loneliness. She shows her fierce and vulnerable side at the same time. She surprises viewers with her glorious performance taking the episode to new heights. Hocane is in great form and is the soul of the enterprise. It would be interesting to see if Dania will accept Dr. Hassan’s proposal.
