Mushk episode 19 highlighted some important themes like “lessons, guilt and punishment” through meaningful dialogues and every character found themselves contemplating on their doings in life supported by their reasons which may or may not be valid. For example, in Mushk episode 19 Shayan is haunted by his past actions and the way he had treated Roshni, therefore Ruby comes to avenge herself, Muqaddar Khan is shown worrying over what his forefathers did and even though he may a tiny bit of remorse for marrying his minor daughter to a grown man, he’s hiding behind denial and justifying his act as a safety net for her future.
Amongst many scenes from Mushk episode 19, the conversation between Adam, Guddi and Mehek in the car was a meaningful one and emphasized on how much importance we place on the trivial things in life without even realizing about the bigger plans destined for us. Every single character from the cast to the supporting leads gave us food for thought through their emotions, interactions and dialogues, making this one of the highlight episodes of Mushk.
ADAM, GUDDI & MEHEK
The conversation between Adam, Guddi and Mehek was more like an awakening, giving all these characters a new perspective on looking at things. They say that you should not judge a book by it’s cover and that stood true for Guddi’s situation and Adam supported the situation beautifully with his performance. A lover taking his childhood love to her final destination so she could be with her love shows how emotionally strong Adam is in his faith of doing the right thing by others. Everybody was emotional, processing and simply reevaluating their lives.
WHY DADA JEE?
So finally Dada Jee made an appearance even though it was short lived. For someone who came on pretty strong in the first few episodes, some of his scenes, reactions and probably the way with which his character has been written got lost in translation in all the previous episodes. Dada Jee seemed like the wiser one but we wouldn’t rely on his judgments and archaic approach.
SHAYAN’S NIKKAH, FINALLY!
Shayan’s nikkah ceremony was the most awaited moment since Mushk started and we loved how the entire track boiled down. This event affected so many people who are attached to each other from the mother to her minor child, Muqaddar Khana and Shayan. And even though their were explanations and you get to imagine that kind of situations and neglect families go through in the lower strata of our society in villages, both the writer and director dealt with this matter delicately.
However what perturbed us about the whole situation was that Mehek left without an explanation when she saw Shayan. This cliff hanger put me off because we’re down to 19 episodes and this was the moment of truth for her. How will alter her life? How will she now justify Shameer’s existence? Shayan doesn’t even know about his child. This was the moment of reckoning and she just let it slide in shock. I expected a lot more from this scene but it just fizzled out.
SAQIB & ROSHNI
Well, Saqib got what he deserved supported by a conscience that had been haunting him for so long, shedding light on the human psyche and how the mind can never rest once you hurt someone so deeply. As they say “as you sow, so shall you reap”. Whereas Roshni is reeling in pain and guilt for hurting her loved ones and reminded us that Allah dukh or takleef denay walay ko saza deta hai.
