A title is of utmost important for anything. Especially, if the title of a drama is captivating, it attracts attention from the audience. This is why writers and producers put a lot of thought into choosing a drama title. There are instances from the Pakistani drama industry when the names of Pakistani dramas were changed. Sometimes, the dramas are shot with a certain title but when the need arises, the producers changed the name when dramas came on air. Some dramas were a hit of their time but the titles were not appropriate. So, the producers changed the titles of the following Pakistani dramas.
Pakistani Dramas that Were Renamed
Aisi Hai Tanhai
Aisi Hai Tanhai became a popular drama among the public. The popularity was because of the storyline and the return of Nadia Khan on screen. The drama was initially named Raqs-e-Bismil. Nadia Khan then proposed the new name and the title was changed to Aisi Hai Tanhai. Surprisingly after many years, another drama came on air with the name, Raqs-e-Bismil and had a completely different storyline. Both these dramas gained popularity in their times.
Daastan
Who can forget about Daastan that is an eternal drama? This drama was based on Razia Butt’s novel named Bano. to your surprise, the initial title for this drama was Lakeerain. There are no reasons why they changed the name of the drama. But, for me both of the titles were good.
Dil banjara
Dil banjara was initially titled, Gypsy. But later the name changed to Dil Banjara and became much popular. If the name had been Gypsy, the impact and attention from the audience would be less. But, the changed name gained more following.
Gustakh
Gustakh was another drama that went through a name change. The initial name of Gustakh was Sham se Pehle according to the script. It was a star-studded blockbuster from Express Entertainment. Why the creators change the name? They changed it because a drama with the same title came on air a few years back.
Jo Tu Chahy
Jo Tu Chahy is one of the Pakistani dramas that went through some serious title renaming. PEMRA was involved in this name change because the original name was Kun Faya Kun which caused outrage among the public. After a few weeks of coming on air, the title was finally changed.
Mann Mayal
Mann Mayal is one of the most famous Pakistani Dramas with a history of the name change. The drama got a lot of fame because of Hamza Ali Abbasi and Maya Ali who were in the lead role. Originally the name was Tera Gham or Ham. It was changed to Dil-e- Janam. But then they settled at Mann Mayal which was a record-breaking drama of its time.
Phaans
How can we get such an issue-based drama that depicted a serious problem? The name of the drama was initially Badzaat. We got to know this when Zara Noor Abbas shared the news of drama on her Instagram. When the drama came on air, the name was Phaans which was much better than the initial one.
Pyar ky Sadqay
Pyar ky Sadqay got popularity because of Yumna Zaidi and Bilal Khan’s on-screen chemistry. But, later the drama took a turn towards a serious plot. The initial name of this drama was Chungal but later changed to Pyar Ky Sadqay which became more popular.
Raba Mainu Maaf Kareen
This drama was originally titled Ranjish but another drama with the same title was getting on air on PTV home. Thus th reproduction house changed its name to Rabba Mainu Maaf Kareen. The title change brought much popularity to the drama.
Saraab
Saraab captured a serious psychological issue where Sonia Hussain acted brilliantly. She performed the role of a Psychological patient. The creators named it Jog initially but changed it later to Saraab. Saraab was undeniably appropriate according to the theme of the drama.

Thora Sa Haq was the popular yet immensely criticized drama from the industry. The title was originally set as Bheegi Palkein but later it was changed.
Zakham
When the teaser was released, the title of this drama was Yaar na Bichray. But when the drama came on air, the title was Zakham. This drama starred Madiha Imam and Faisal Qureshi and became a big success.
