Anyone who knows me, knows that I don’t plan things for myself much before time. I am usually consumed with styling looks for my clients, so when it comes to my own clothes, I am a last minute person. I have tried to work on it, but I think since I dress people up for a living, I sometimes forget I have to show up at places too. Which is why, more often than not, I have found myself staring into my wardrobe, vowing to change my outfit planning habits (however, it helps greatly knowing what your personal style is).
Luckily, now I have Foha Raza in my life who runs the brand called Cabaret by Foha, and she literally is a message away. This time too it was her who made my appearance at PLBW day 1 possible.
Personally I like relaxed non body hugging, skin showing clothes. My sense of style is laid back chic (if there is such a thing) with hint of androgyny, so when I saw this brand called Black Sugar in Bangkok, I ended up spending most of my money on it. These interesting wrap double layered, drop pants are from there ad my bow detailed, very nicely stitched, silk top by Cabaret (she literally made it in a few hours!)
Since the look was all black, I decided to add some bling with gold accessories. Adding a sequenced Aldo clutch, gold bangles, a ring that I actually received that very day from a designer friend and black and gold earrings. Mid way to the venue, I felt the earrings are a bit much (I am a proponent of underdress rather than over dress), I took one earring off (who does that??) I chose these Kenneth Cole open toe mules to give my look more of the ease that I was targeting.
I strongly feel one should dress to look themselves rather than people we see on social media. It is a phenomenon to wear what others are wearing and end up looking like everyone else, I guess that just does not work for me!
