PFDC has come a long way and has contributed so much to the fashion industry of Pakistan and I feel really proud and lucky to be a part of it this year. I personally think that the platform of PLBW will be a great learning experience. It will definitely help build on my skills and define a way forward for the design direction.- Zarmisha Dar
Zarmisha Dar is all set to showcase her capsule collection as part of the Rising Talent segment at the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2015. She spoke to SiddySays about her upcoming showcase and here is everything we learned:
Do you have a formal degree in fashion?
Yes! I have graduated from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design.
What is it about the fashion world that drives you?
Fashion is art. It’s a peek into a personality. It’s playfulness. It’s an escape or a disguise. It is a feast for the eyes. But ultimately, fashion is an individual statement of expression for each of us and that is what drives me.
Which designer do you look up to in the Pakistani Fashion Industry?
Kamiar Rokni
What is the inspiration behind your collection?
Inspiration for this collection comes from the word “GULLISTAN” which is a Turkish word for “Garden of Roses”. The aim of the collection is to provide something luxurious yet simple combined with style.
What are the different crafts you have showcased in your collection?
The different crafts include traditional dubka kura, use of gota incorporated with thread work.
Who is the collection for? Describe the woman wearing your designs.
Sensual, sophisticated and luxurious. This collection is for strong modern woman who is looking for luxury combined with style.
Why is this showcase important for you?
PLBW 2015 is going to be my first show. It is the biggest platform in the industry to showcase bridal work. I strongly believe that it will be opening a lot of opportunities for me.
