The second Pond’s Miracle Journey gala was held in the lawns of Mohatta Palace in Karachi, marking a year-long campaign by Ponds to recognise 100 high achieving women who constitute Pakistan’s resilient heroes.
The Pond’s Miracle Woman is one who balances a professional career with their family life with ease and elegance – an example to be learnt from.
The evening, hosted by Aly Khan, involved poetry and stories celebrating these women who have moulded Pakistan in different ways including an inspiring talk by none other than Muniba Mazari.
This effort began last year with the introduction of ten Miracle Mentors who were each tasked with nominating ten high achieving women as their Miracle Women. Miracle Mentors for this year included Nadia Hussain, Hadiqa Kiani, Saba Hamid, Shehla Chatoor, Dr Mahnaz Naveed Shah, Tahera Hasan, Muniba Mazari, Sameena Abbas, Momina Duraid, and Shamain Faruque.
Shazia Syed, Chairperson and CEO, Unilever Pakistan Limited, highlighted, “We believe that an enabling environment can provide the inspiration needed to help Miracle Women rise beyond the glass ceiling. As a working mother myself, I take pride in Pond’s initiative to provide a recognition and support network to nurture and mentor Pakistan’s exceptional women.”
The Pond’s Miracle Journey will remain an annual celebration of women in Pakistani society, appreciating and highlighting their effort which deserves to be commemorated.
