1) VELVET
As far as fabrics go, nothing looks and feels quite as rich and luxe as velvet. Whether you’re going for a sophisticated evening look or a traditional wedding vibe, velvet hits the mark every time — which is why we’re so excited this ’90s trend is back in a big way this season for both Eastern and Western wear. 2) GOTA
Gota-embellished outfits are always so gorgeous, having a way of being simultaneously delicate and dramatic.
3) JEWEL TONES
Sophisticated, mysterious and a sure-shot statement, jewel tones of oxblood, amethyst, sapphire, emerald, ruby, garnet and citrine suit every skin type and silhouette. Pair with traditional jewellery and gold accessories!
4) A RETURN TO THE TRADITIONAL
There are a plethora of ways for you to work in traditional elements into your evening look. Fabrics like tissue, raw silk, lame, block print or chunri are always impactful, go for cuts like an angrakha, anarkali, peshwas, lengha-choli, sherwani, coat, shalwars, izhaar pajama or longer lengths, kaam with gota, kiran, zari, sheesha, salma and resham infused in, and shades of rose gold and jewel tones, or vibrant and ethnic colours.
5) CHAADAR’S
With fashion in the full flush of a new, maximalist mood, the beauty of this trend lies in the simplicity. Whether going for a fully embroidered shawl, a contrast velvet embellished chaadar or even going old school with two chaddar’s draped traditionally, adding a statement chaadar to your outfit equates instant elegance and regality.
