When it comes to making a show of one’s musical talents, Pakistan’s music industry has surpassed all expectations! Not only is commercially produced music coming up with one hit after the other (in almost every other genre, too!), but the year of 2019 has been exceptionally successful when it comes to Pakistani dramas’ soulful OSTs and catchy tunes that make up an essential part of any movie’s story plot.
From the hauntingly beautiful ‘Do Bol,’ sung by Nabeel Chaudary and Aima Baig, to Farhan Saeed’s honey-sweet vocals in ‘Suno Chanda 2’ to Sahir Ali Bagga’s phenomenal OST for Deewar-e-Shab – it has been one grand hit after another.
The film industry has really upped its music game too – giving us tunes that we can listen to endlessly! The vastness of musical genres is especially worth mentioning here – from the classical ‘Zihaal-e-Miskeen’ to the poignantly sweet ‘In Dinon’ and moving on to ‘Naache Re’ as the ultimate Mehndi dance song, there’s lots for us to choose (and love!) from.
SO HERE’S OUR LIST OF THE BEST TV & FILM SONGS OF 2019!
IN DINON, SUPERSTAR
If there’s any singer who can touch all the four corners of your heart, then that’s Atif Aslam and he makes you fall in love with “love” in In Dinon.
OST, MERE PASS TUM HO
The drama serial may be a tear jerker, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan makes it even more traumatic (haha) with his vocals. Every word he sings, hurts!
HAYE DIL BECHARA, PAREY HUT LOVE
From the moves to the beat, to the perfromance, Haye Dil Bechara is a heal kicker and Jimmy Khan has made this the most fun of the year 2019.
THE CHALAAWA SONG, CHALAAWA
This song is so colourful, its full of energy, it also became a massive hit and Pakistani’s are going gaga over the chorus.
OST, GUL-O-GULZAR
Nirmal Roy is a power house, she can go high and low and in the OST of Gul-o-Gulzar, she is strikingly sweet yet painful with Naveed’s rendition.
GANGSTER GURIYA, BAAJI
Sunidhi Chauhan may have given life the song with her vocals but Mehwish Hayat made Gangster Guriya rock on the screen. Definitely its the item song of the year (2019).
OST, RANJHA RANJHA KARDI
Even though RRK is off air yet Sami Khan’s mellifluous voice tugs at your strings and she surrenders in the chorus.
BADLAAN, BAAJI
Zeb and Sultan bring Badlaan to life by giving the words soul and Amna Ilyas made it all the more real in Baaji with her au natural performance.
OST, DO BOL
Do Bol is an emotional ride and so is the OST. It aches of hurt and betrayal and love lost. A really sad but popular song.
CHAN MAHI, HEER MAAN JA
A sweet romantic song which was raw and painful at the same time, Chan Mahi was one of the best songs of 2019 from HMJ.
OST, EHD-E-WAFA
The show’s running, it’s a instant hit and so is the OST. Asim Azhar, Ali Zafar, Aima Baig, Sahir Ali Bagga – everybody has made it their own.
