It is no secret, I love food, and being brought up on desi Chinese as a kid, evolving into a sushi lover, and then travelling to Thailand ALOT has made me quite Pan Asian in my food preference. So when we got a chance to try out TAO I was very excited.
A very popular place to eat in Karachi, Tao recently opened its doors in Lahore. I had heard mixed reviews, but I am not one to believe everything I hear, and in this case I am glad. I loved the place from the moment I stepped in. It was not very formal and not painfully casual. It is a place where you can comfortably sit as you wait for food, but you don’t feel you are in a five star lobby. It looks like a comfortable restaurant.
The menu is quite elaborate with soups, starters, good assortment of sushi and mains. One thing I loved was the prices and variety of seafood keeping in mind they don’t serve just any fish but Red Snapper in their seafood.
Here is a Guide to TAO
Go to TAO if you:
Love comfortable, cosy and not OTT spaces
Love Wasabi, the Wasabi Prawns have a real kick
Are a Seafood lover. Impressive menu executed to perfection
Like your soup without too much cornflour!
Craving Dynamite Shrimp from PF Chang. It is almost as good!
Haven never found the right papaya salad in Pakistan. There’s is the best I have had.
Like value for money.
Do Not go to TAO if you:
like a loud place with only social butterflies
want the desi Chinese taste
Don’t wanna try newer dishes
Actually there are not many reasons Not to go to Tao. We highly recommend it.
Here is what we ordered:
