Why?
Simply put, both designers/brands have a very clear focus on who they are, what they are and what their look is.
Tibi is almost a 20 year old brand created by Ami Smilovic and has a very authentic and a clear point of view, which has a surety to it. It offers clothes that are no fuss, minimalistic yet they are very chic and feminine. Tibi is not competing with others, but making its own space almost unscathed by sheer commercialism. Most of what I like wearing when it comes to western wear is very well reflected by the brand which is edgy and cool.
Another designer whose work I love is Rajesh Pratap Singh from India. Let’s face it, we cant always be wearing western silhouettes, and its even more fun when we can bring together east and west in a fun way. Since my style is minimalistic, Rajesh’s work really hits a chord with his straight cuts and fabric choices. I love how he pairs lehngas with button down shirts, and pleated skirts with sherwanis. Again creating edgy looks in a cool relaxed manner while staying very clear and true to his aesthetic.
